Test Proctor Information

The NFPT administers its examinations by standardized proxy and takes the test delivery process policies and procedures very seriously. While efforts are made for test administration to be as convenient as possible, it is more important that the integrity of the examination remain intact. Please look below to find the test proctor category which describes your role or intended role in the test administration process.

Wanting to become an NFPT State Representative
The NFPT Proctor Training Manual describes all NFPT test delivery processes and must be read thoroughly. You will fill out Appendix E and return by mail or fax to NFPT Headquarters. You will hear from NFPT within a two week period of time with confirmation of your NFPT State Representative status.

Existing NFPT State Representative
You have completed the enrollment process and have been appointed an NFPT State Representative, you have a certificate to verify such. The NFPT Proctor Training Manual will provide you with the most up to date information regarding test delivery and any new revisions to this manual will be found here.

Interim (Temporary) Proctor
You have been chosen or you have volunteered to administer the examination to an NFPT test candidate in your area. By providing this service you are allowing for a more convenient test method, as travel to an appointed NFPT Test Site may be difficult or impossible for the NFPT test candidate. The NFPT and the test candidate thank you for your time and effort in this process, and we trust that you understand NFPT's test security methods and required adherence to such. It is required, just as it is with appointed NFPT State Representatives, that you read, understand, and will comply with the NFPT Proctor Training Manual. Please fill out Appendix D and submit to NFPT by mail at PO Box 4579-Lafayette-IN-47903 or by fax at 765-471-7369. You will need to provide this document and copy of your teaching license (or equivalent) in order to receive the examination for administration to test candidate. * A family member of the test candidate may not proctor the exam.

The NFPT Proctor Training Manual may be downloaded and printed for your convenience. Because of test time constraints in relation to candidates test due dates and subsequent mailing delays, this manual will not be provided in hard copy from NFPT, you will only find this information from the link provided. Please contact NFPT Headquarters at 800-729-6378 with any questions. Thank you for providing this service to those pursuing NFPT Personal Fitness Trainer credentials.
